OK, now that our side-by-side comparison is done, let’s take a closer look at various aspects of Phixer’s real estate photo editing services. 

Phixer Overview

Phixer is a global photo editing technology company whose services are aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at real estate photographers and sales agents. 

Founded in Seattle, Washington, in 2009, it quickly expanded with editing teams in India, the Philippines, and Singapore by 2010.

Today, they employ over 900 digital photo editors, serving real estate sales professionals in over 40 countries. 

Some of their services include:

• Photo editing and image retouching
• Virtual staging
• Sky replacement, twilight effects, and landscaping augmentation
• Object removal and decluttering
• And video editing

Phixer is a large company. According to its website, Phixer processes over 50,000 real estate images and videos a day from international clients.

Now that we know who they are, let’s go deeper in our review of Phixer’s real estate photo editing services.

Pricing

First, let’s examine Phixer’s pricing for their real estate photo editing services. 

Unfortunately, Phixer doesn’t have its pricing readily available on the website. I had to Google Phixer’s pricing separately and eventually found some information buried toward the end of a blog post.

Here’s what I discovered in terms of an overview of their pricing:

• Basic photo editing services — color enhancement, cropping, and exposure correction — $2 to $5 per image
• High-End Photo Editing – HDR blending, sky replacement, and object removal — $10 to $25 per image

Granted, they do provide a bit more pricing details once you’ve started your order, but again, they don’t provide specific prices. For example:

• It was hard to find any mention of bulk discounts 
• Unfortunately, there are no pricing or service FAQs 
• They do offer a free, $30 trial, so that’s good

In my opinion, whenever a company makes it hard to know its pricing ahead of placing an offer, it makes one wonder if they are trying to hide something. 

Ordering From Phixer

Moving on, let’s take a look at the real estate photo editing ordering experience with Phixer.

To start, it helps that Phixer’s website is well organized, with a minimal look, making it easy to use.

1. Placing an Order

Placing a photo editing order with Phixer was quick and straightforward.

You create an account as you go through the order placement process. All the steps were clear and easy to understand. They also allow you to choose additional editing services by using checkboxes. 

One small, positive feature stood out to me — if you need sky replacements,  they give you a variety to select from, including:

• Clear blue
• Wispy clouds
• Dramatic skies
• And twilight effects

Next, let’s look at how uploading photos with Phixer works.

2. Uploading Images

One of the last steps in the ordering process is uploading your images. And again, a couple of positive features to note:

• The uploading function is built-in to the ordering process — you don’t have to use a different function or third-party site
• My photos – 24 in total, and fairly large — were uploaded in 16 minutes
• Thankfully, there were no uploading failures

After experiencing difficulty uploading images with several other photo editing service companies, Phixer’s uploading process was a pleasant surprise. 

Overall, placing a photo editing order with Phixer was a positive experience. All right, so, what about Phixer’s production turnaround time?

3. Turnaround Time

Phixer allows you to select your turnaround time. They offer the following options:

• 12 hour
• 18 hour 
• 24 hour

Do note, that there are additional “rush fees” for the 12 and 18-hour options. Interestingly, the Phixer app allows quicker edits and a quicker turnaround time of up to 8 hours.

Well, now having explained the ordering process, let’s turn our attention to the overall results.

Photo Editing Examples

When I placed my order with Phixer, I uploaded 24 HDR photos to be blended into 8 images. 

And these were my additional editing instructions for those 8 images:

• Sky replacement on all the exterior shots
• Remove the cars on all exterior images
• Grass greening on one exterior photo 
• Window masking on all interior photos
• Remove a small towel from the bathroom photo

As you will see, the quality of the work was very good.

The photos are clear and sharp. The car removal was done well and exposure and HDR blending look good.

The sky replacement on the front exterior shot was nicely executed, but the sky replacement on the aerial image was a bit oversaturated and lacked clouds, gradient, and overall detail. 

The bathroom image was alright, but a bit too dark for my liking. They did follow my directions to remove the hand towel, which was nice.

The bedroom image was also quite nice, although they did remove some clarity in the window pull, which was a bit disappointing. 

Overall, the image of the nursery was well done, although again I’d like it if the image was a bit brighter.

The living room image was the best/brightest image of all of the interior shots, although the view through the window was washed out yet again… Not ideal. 

Revisions

Phixer delivered my photos within the promised 24-hour turnaround period. 

When I reviewed the photos, I only saw the need for one slight revision — the removal of a storage tank to the left of the patio. 

I requested my revision and they finished it within an hour, and it looked good.

Image Quality

To summarize, the quality of Phixer’s real estate photo editing was very good and they followed all of my directions. 

They produced clear, crisp, high-quality edited photos, which is expected from a big photo editing company like Phixer.

Now, let’s turn our attention to Phixer’s customer support.

Phixer’s Support

As noted earlier, my experience with Phixer’s customer support was excellent. For starters, they offer the following contact options:

• US telephone support
• Email support
• And live Chat

Also, I should note, that Phixer offers 24/7 customer service on their live chat feature. 

There was an additional pleasant customer support surprise as well. Before I had even finished uploading my photos, a customer account representative called me to welcome me to Phixer and to see if I had any questions. 

If you’ve read some of my previous reviews of other photo editing companies, you’ll quickly see that the ordering and customer support experiences with most other companies left much to be desired.

Refreshingly, Phixer’s ordering process and customer support are quite good. 

Additional Services

As we’re getting ready to conclude this review, allow me to mention one more consideration — one-stop-shopping.

It’s really convenient to work with a marketing service provider who can address all my business needs. For example, for my real estate sales, I regularly rely on:

• Virtual staging
• Single property websites
• Floor plans
• Help from virtual assistants
• And property flyers, too

While Phixer offers real estate photo and video editing, as well as virtual staging, it does not offer some of these other services. 

It’s rare that all I’ll need is just photo editing and not some of the other services as well. 

So, if I needed a virtual assistant, a single property website, or several other marketing support items, I’d have to work with two, or more, companies — which wastes time and takes extra effort. 

Having noted the issue of limited service options, let’s now conclude our review of Phixer’s real estate photo editing services.

Verdict: Is Phixer’s Real Estate Photo Editing Services Worth It?

My overall experience with Phixer was very positive. They offer and deliver high-quality photo editing, customer support, and order placement process.

Also, they have a quick turnaround time, even for revisions. Were there any negatives to note? Just a few:

• It was difficult to find pricing information before placing an order
• Limited services — other than photo editing and virtual staging, they don’t offer any other real estate marketing services

One more observation, while the editing work was good, Phixer’s pricing is slightly high — at least more expensive than PhotoUp:

• Higher-end photo editing with Phixer – $10 to $25 per image
• Higher-end photo editing with PhotoUp – $1.50 to $15 per image
