With the overall comparison now done, let’s look closer at their real estate photo editing services.

FixThePhoto Overview

FixThePhoto is an online photo editing company in business since 2003. As an online service, they employ and work with hundreds of photo editors around the world.

FixThePhoto real estate photo editing review

Overall, FixThePhoto offers a wide variety of services aimed mostly at portrait and wedding photographers. However, they also include photo editing services for real estate photographers and sales professionals.

Pricing

First, let’s review FixThePhoto’s real estate photo editing costs.

At first glance, FixThePhoto’s standard real estate image editing is $1.50 per photo, including single-shot HDR photos.

However, other services are labeled “Extra-Level” photo editing and the price quickly jumps to $12.00 per image.

FixThePhoto photo editing plans

Accordingly, Extra-Level real estate photo editing includes services such as:

  • Lawn enhancement or repair
  • TV screen replacement
  • Flash reflection removal
  • Add fire to the fireplace
  • Shadow removal, and more.

One downside was that I couldn’t find any mention of flambient photo editing services, which is a popular type of edit for real estate photography.

Rush services are available, but for a steep cost. For example, here are their two options:

  • Reducing the standard 48-hour turnaround time to 36 hours costs 50% of the order total
  • But, reducing turnaround time to 24 hours costs 75% of the order total

Unfortunately, FixThePhoto’s overall pricing is a bit confusing. Their real estate photo editing pricing varies from their other photo editing services.

Further, they feature multiple levels of services without much clarity about the differences.

But to their defense, they do offer pricing and service FAQs.

Ordering From FixThePhoto

Therefore, noting the pricing issues, now let’s talk about the real estate photo editing ordering experience.

1. Creating an Account

Overall, creating an account with FixThePhoto was easy enough. The interface isn’t fancy but functions well.

Create an account page

2. Uploading Images

However, image uploading was another matter. While they accept most file types, uploading was painfully slow. For example, my 24 images took well over 12 minutes to load.

Upload photos page

Also, as I mentioned before, the pricing was confusing. At first, I selected the $1.50 per image, basic option. As a result, I planned to pay the 36 dollars for my 24 photos.

Real estate photo editing plans

However:

  • The first invoice I received by email was for $15.00
  • While trying to understand that price, another email arrived with a revised invoice for $108.00
  • Before paying that amount a third invoice arrived for $43.50 due to a discount of around 30% on my first order

As a result, this was really an extremely confusing process.

Also, FixThePhoto allows payment via credit/debit card or PayPal, so, I opted for PayPal and I received a receipt within minutes. Additionally, weekend ordering is available, too.

Now, with the order placed, we turn to the main focus of our review – a look at the photo editing samples.

Photo Editing Examples

Overall, my work order with FixThePhoto was for 24 HDR real estate photo exposures to be blended into 8 final photos.

I also asked for:

  • Sky replacement on all exterior shots
  • Window masking on all interior shots
  • A small towel removed from a bathroom shot
  • And cars removed from an exterior aerial shot

Shortly after, as promised, the images were delivered via email link to DropBox within the 48-hour time estimate window. Further, all of my photo editing requests were followed.

Let’s take a look at the results!

Example 1. HDR Blending & Sky Replacement

The actual HDR blending was satisfactory, but the replacement sky looked a bit bland.

Example 2. Window Masking

My initial photos featured excessive glare from the windows – they performed the window masking nicely.

Example 3. Towel Removal

Except for the HDR blending, I also asked them to remove the hand towel, and they did a good job with both edits.

Example 4. Car Removal

In this areal shot, I asked FixThePhoto to remove the cars in the driveway, and the photo came out good with all cars nicely removed.

Nice job!

Example 5. Lighting Glare

However, the lighting glare edit wasn’t as successful as the other edits. If you look at the light fixture, the glare is excessive and distracting.

They could have done a better job with this one!

But I didn’t ask for revisions because I didn’t want to possibly wait another 48 hours.

Image Quality

Overall, the quality of the real estate photo editing was average. For example:

  • The window masking was acceptable
  • Also, the item removals were fine
  • And the sky replacement was good but a bit bland
  • But there were glare issues from light fixtures in two interior photos

My instructions were followed, but the editing results were less than impressive, especially for the price.

FixThePhoto Support

Next in our review, let’s look at FixThePhoto’s real estate photo editing support services.

Overall, my customer support experience was average. Also, as far as communication options, FixThePhoto offers:

  • Instant chat
  • Email
  • Also, toll-free telephone support

So, of these, I relied on the email option. At first a few emails came from someone named Ann.

Then, an hour or so later, I received another email from Tatti who identified herself as my account representative. However, I continued receiving similar emails from Ann, which was a bit confusing.

Despite the overlap, my photo editing instructions were correctly followed and all my questions were answered.

Additional Services

As our last review step, let’s consider the advantage of centralized and additional services.

Basic photo editing services are one thing, but consolidating all my real estate marketing needs with one vendor on one website makes things easier and increases my efficiency.

Overall, FixThePhoto does offer a decent range of real estate marketing services. Generally, these mostly involve video and photo editing, including basic virtual staging.

FixThePhoto real estate photo editing

However, real estate photo editing and marketing appear not to be their specialty.

FixThePhoto additional services

And for example, in terms of real estate services, they don’t offer:

  • Single property websites
  • Virtual assistants
  • Property flyers
  • Or custom house portraits

Therefore, this makes vendor and service consolidation for real estate professionals difficult, at best.

Also, their overall real estate photo editing service options are generally basic, with few, if any, extra services.

Additionally, portrait, wedding, and event photography seem to be FixThePhoto’s main business and specialty. While they offer real estate photo editing, it’s not their primary focus.

That said, let’s move on to summarize our experience.

Pros and Cons of FixThePhoto

To give you a quick overview, here are some pros and cons of FixThePhoto:

ProsCons
Easy to use interface & account creationVery slow image uploading
Delivered my photos on timeLong turnaround time (48 hours)
Editing instructions were followedAverage product quality
FAQs on pricing & services were availableConfusing and expensive pricing

Our Take: Is FixThePhoto’s Real Estate Photo Editing Worth It?

Finally, it’s time for our verdict and findings from this FixThePhoto real estate photo editing review.

Overall, the experience was average and the final quality of the edited photos was satisfactory, but not outstanding.

Also, given the high price and slower turnaround times for even basic real estate photo editing services, I find it difficult to recommend FixThePhoto.

Yes, they may have expertise with portrait, wedding, and event photos — but this doesn’t extend to real estate visual marketing.
